Shoppers World Spring 1963
Here’s a Kodachrome color slide I found a few years ago at an estate sale, showing the blossoming trees in front of Conrad Chandler at Shoppers World in the Spring of 1963.
If any readers have other photos of Shoppers World, I’d love to publish them here. Just send me an email.

Shoppers World in its time was just beautiful…George Apt was a manager and forgot the manager he preceded. Both did a great. The landscaping was just georgeous.
Maintenance men like the late Raymond Marshall and the Charlie Burkis’ late brother did a super job and was very proud of their work.Flowers all over the place.
When the Easter “Bunny came and Santa – kids just love it. Concerts in the Summer time were delightful. Had an Octoberfest that I can recall was just fun. All that great German music.
The shoppes were lovely Could get anything you were looking for. The prices were right and the ice creap shoppes were great. Forgot the name of the restaurant,
Joe Marrino’s barber shop, Travellers Insurance, a store that one could get any kind of fabric with all the extras, for sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting.
I miss the old place. It was “alive” and loved to shop there. Forgot to mention the lovely theater.
at least one that I can remember.

Conrad Chandler! I’d forgotten. My mother used to buy her dresses there.
